1. Reading Circle Meeting #1:
  • Write the title of your book and the pages your group read on the top line. In your group, discuss and complete the following on your own binder paper!
1) What stood out as you read?
2) How would you describe the writer’s style?
3) What is the setting and what is unique about it?
4) What do you think about the narrator or protagonist?
5) What do you predict will happen in the coming chapters?
6) Does anything strike you as symbolic in these early chapters?
7) Do the book, setting, events, characters strike you as believable and relatable so far?

READING CIRCLE HOMEWORK FOR NEXT WEEK:
 One member brings in a favorite part to read and discuss (roughly 1 paragraph in length).
 One member brings in a question they want to discuss and share their answers.
 One member compares him/herself to a character, explaining similarities and differences.
 One member finds a paragraph that embodies the primary theme so far, and explains it.
